Experience White Memorial Camp!

Youth Camps

Every Summer Has a Story…

Overview

We host overnight camps varying from three to six days in length for completed grades K – 12. Taking part in The Camp White Experience is the perfect way to make friends, learn new skills, and create lifetime memories on a lake in the beautiful Flint Hills. We offer a variety of camping choices; there is something for everyone. Some camps focus on outdoor education and others give students a chance to grow their faith in a unique environment. We offer camps on physical fitness, social awareness, nature preservation and good old fashion playing outside. No matter which camp you choose, our goal is to make you feel welcome – and to have a ton of fun, of course! Our scenic location, easy lake access, focus on safety, communication, and our delicious food help set us apart from other camps. Browse our site to see some of the activities we offer, and check out the camp descriptions below.  Hope to see you soon!

Camp Celebrate
All ages
TBD- 2021

This week is designed to allow church groups a chance to attend camp by partnering with our professional staff and other churches. Bring yourself, or bring your entire group. Students and Group Leaders are all welcome. Let’s share our different views on faith by taking turns leading services and working together during the week. For 55 years, WMC has helped nurture the spiritual growth of campers, families, churches and individuals. Each person is on their own faith journey, and we aim to provide that person a community and safe space to explore and grow their faith in the beauty of the Flint Hills. Not to mention, we have a crazy-fun time doing it! Many churches simply don’t have the resources or funds to provide outdoor ministries. Let us help you create your custom camp that overlaps others’ experiences. We’ll come together once or twice a day as one large group to Celebrate, while allowing you the freedom to either follow your own program, or a program that WMC designs for you! So, come laugh with us. Let’s play outside, learn about nature, and build something together! All ages.

NWTF JAKES Camp
Youth 17 years old and younger
October 3 – October  4, 2019

Know a kid who loves being outdoors? Have they shown an interest in fishing, camping, or shooting a bow? If this sounds like a young person you know, sign them up for the National Wild Turkey Federation’s (NWTF) 2019 Kansas State JAKES Camp. Open to youth 17 and younger.

On Saturday, participants can select up to six activities from a list that includes fishing, arts and crafts, JAKES Take Aim BB gun shooting, trap shooting, still target shooting, archery, canoeing, and wild game calling and meet with our special guest to be announced.

Saturday evening, attendees can participate in the annual NWTF Kansas State JAKES (ages 12 and under) and Xtreme JAKES (ages 13 to 17) turkey calling contest. Prizes totaling $450 in Cabela’s/Bass Pro Shops gift cards will be awarded to the top three finishers in both divisions.

Sunday opens with sunrise service at Vespers. After the service, participants will enjoy a program on trapping and fur harvesting from members of the Kansas Fur Harvesters Association.

The cost of the event is $25 for JAKES members, $35 for non-JAKES members (which includes a JAKES membership), and $25 for adults. Options for Saturday night include commuting, tent camping (bring your own tent), RV camping (a few RV hook-ups are available) or for an additional fee, staying in a resident cabin (bunk beds and shared bath). Boys and girls will have separate cabins.

The camp cost includes lunch and supper on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Meals will be prepared by the White Memorial Camp kitchen staff. All youth 17 and younger will receive a commemorative t-shirt and win a prize in a drawing on Sunday. Some lucky youngster will win a shotgun.

The NWTF Kansas State JAKES Camp was awarded the “Best State JAKES Event” in 2012, the “Best Special JAKES Event” in 2013 at the NWTF National Convention in Nashville, Tenn., and “Honorable Mention” in 2013, 2014, and 2015.
