The Camp White Experience is an ongoing adventure for making friends and creating lifetime memories in a safe, beautiful, natural environment. It’s wonderfully crazy, it can be messy and it’s different from our normal, everyday lives. Camp provides time to “unplug” from electronic devices, TV, and get out into nature! We spend our time together (except for limited access during cabin time), unplugged from everything. We put away our phones, computers, ear-buds and try to expand our understanding and experience of the nature around us. At camp, we have the opportunity to learn more about plants, animals, outdoor skills and develop deep friendships.
Camp White offers summer camps and activities for youth, adults with developmental disabilities, and year-round rentals and activities for others with many different interests. We’ve got youth camps during spring break, summer camps for adventure seeking youth, camps to nurture creative kids, camps to focus on water activities, and camps of a broad nature to experience everything camp has to offer.
Camp for Adults with Developmental Disabilities
Our camps specifically for Adults with Developmental Disabilities focus on fun activities and friends for adults with a wide range of developmental and physical disabilities. DDA campers thrive in this environment!
Welcoming to All!
White Memorial Camp is welcoming to all. And, we strive to nurture every type of learner and personality. We’ve got adventure seekers, dreamers, energetic, and mellow campers covered. Camp is about having fun while learning new skills — all in a safe environment.
History and Motivation
Established in 1963 by a donation of land from the White Family of Council Grove, Kansas, White Memorial Camp and Retreat Center is affiliated with the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference of the United Church of Christ. We seek to nurture and stimulate Christian growth through worship, education, community building and fun for all ages by celebration, recreation, and relaxation in a beautiful natural setting.
Our summer camps spend time in the morning and evening each day reflecting on our experiences at camp and connection to God. We have Bible studies and discussions where all cultures and religions are welcome. We encourage our staff and our campers to ask questions together in hopes of understanding that we all have unique views and perspectives when it comes to our ever developing faith.
So take a look around, see which session(s) are the right fit, and plan to have your youth join us this spring and summer! Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
